The reason this is possible is because Google, as a part of their core algorithm, favours large authoritative websites with millions of links.
If you own a small website, or even a medium size website, you have 0% chance of competing with Youtube or Reddits authority. So thats where the idea comes: Why not join them, and utilize their authority to rank??!!!!

Yesterday on the 17 of july 2024 I posted a Youtube video about cloud stacking with schema for local seo. After I uploaded the video, I posted it to Reddit, Twitter, tumblr and my own GBP profile as a post. Today, less than 24 hours later, I now have a the first position in Google with my video, as well as the Reddit post is also ranking.
I didnt use any indexers, and I didnt do any linkbuilding to these posts. This is the perfect example of parasite seo, as it show you excatly how powerful these properties are.
In short, the process of Parasite SEO with Youtube and Reddit is like this:
1. Find a longtail keyword with low competition.
2. Create a Youtube video with the title as the keyword
3. Make sure to use the keyword in the description and in the hashtags
4. Create a Reddit post with the title of the keyword
5. Share the Youtube video in the Reddit post
6. Use the description from the Youtube video in the Reddit post
7. Tweet your Youtube video and the Reddit post
When I do Parasite seo, I normally do it for leadgen sites, or my own blogposts on my own websites, such as this website, or YACSS or schemawriter.ai websites.
If Im optimizing my blogposts, I will typically try to go directly for the title of the blogpost itself. In the case of this blogpost, I have created the Youtube video thats embedded in the top to target the title.
For leadgen sites its a little bit different. If Im for example is doing tree service, and Im based in Alabama, I would create a service page with the title “tree service alabama” and create a Youtube with with this exact title.
A big part of doing Youtube SEO is optimizing the description itself. Its so basic, yet so powerful, that many miss this step. But its simple, just remember these steps for doing Youtube Parasite seo:
Besides this write a short description about your topic, as you are going to need this description in Reddit.
For this step, you will need your own subreddit that you can post to. You create a post on Reddit, use the keyword as the title, and copy paste the description from the Youtube video as it is.
I normally make a text link from the Reddit text to the Youtube video, and insert the banner image from the Youtube video in the post itself. It makes for a bit more interesting read, should any Reddit users actually read your post.
If your Youtube description is a little bit short, its a good idea to add more text to the Reddit post.
The Reddit posts are awesome to make, as they index super fast, without the need to do anything special.
